Your makeup tools are just as important as your makeup products.  Proper sanitation of the tools is even more important.  After all, we want the cleanest of brushes/sponges/puffs touching our face.  A lot of people tend to overlook sanitation when a tool is “new.”  They assume that because it’s new, it’s clean.  That, my gorgeous friend, is not true.

Makeup brushes and other tools are manufactured in factories where they may have collected dust and debris.  They may have also been handled in packaging possibly picking up germs.  It is ALWAYS a good idea to wash your brushes and other makeup tools BEFORE using them.  ALWAYS.  It is imperative to make sure they are clean.  After all, you will be using these tools on your face and you want them to be as clean as possible.  We don’t want any breakouts.  Also, washing your brushes before use will remove any loose bristles so they don’t end up on your face.

I personally like cleaning by brushes with the blue Dawn dishwashing soap (breaks up oil) and a little bit of olive oil (keeps the bristles soft).  I wash my sponges and puffs with the Beauty Blender solid cleanser.  I hope this ‘Quick Tip Tuesday’ was beneficial!

Till next time gorgeous,
